Located in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, Wintergreen Performing Arts, Inc. is a non-profit organization that produces a high-quality summer music festival featuring symphonic and chamber concerts, as well as other performing arts programs throughout the year. Education is a major part of our mission, reflected both in the Wintergreen Summer Music Academy and in outreach programs for those living in the surrounding area. By attracting first-rate musicians to participate as performers and educators, we strive to enrich the lives of all--residents and visitors alike--who share the unique Wintergreen experience.

The 2008 Wintergreen Summer Music Festival and Academy took place from July 7-August 3, 2008 at Wintergreen Resort in Wintergreen, Virginia.To everyone who attended one or more of the 175 events this summer . . . thank you! To everyone who volunteered . . . thank you!! To our Festival artists . . . thank you!!! The 2009 Festival will begin on Monday, July 6, 2009 and end on Sunday, August 2, 2009. Piano Marathon: 24.5 Hours of SatieThe piano marathon began at 6:00 pm on July 13, and it ended at 6:35 pm on July 14 followed by a rousing rendition of La Marseillaise sung by chanteuse Helene Delavault. Various pianists performed Erik Satie's Vexations during the course of the marathon. Click here to read about the marathon. With an approved (and balanced) budget in place, the organization begins the process of finding all of the money that will be needed to mount the upcoming season.The budget for the 2007-08 season is approximately $800,000! Ticket sales, while extremely important, cover a relatively small percentage of WPA's overall budget. The bulk of the funds come from individuals, corporations and foundations. WPA could not exist without the many Individuals who contribute to WPA's Annual Fund. The first and most important phase of WPA's Annual Fund drive takes place from October through December each year. WPA is on the move, and we need your support.
